Re: Anyone have Ninja Foodi GRILL?

A co-worker received one for Christmas and she loves it.

Re: Anyone have Ninja Foodi GRILL?

Mine actually came Friday.  I hadn't expected it to arrive until the 21st. So  I'll pick up some steaks and veggies to grill next time I go shopping.

It's only me and my furbaby (who enjoys roasted veggies and, of course, steak) so think this, though an expensive item, will pay for itself as I'll grill in this eliminating heating up the big oven, saving time and minimal clean up.

Though I haven't tried this yet, the reviews I've read on various sites have been very good.

I have the one w/o the probe, didn’t think it was necessary.  If I ever change my mind, I can get a meat thermometer for $20 bucks on Amazon.  So far I’ve made burgers and chicken breasts.  Both were excellent.  Cleanup is easy too.  We gave three Foodi Grills as Christmas gifts and the recipients were very happy.

I can't believe I'm considering this purchase at some point.  Why?  Because I already have a Jenn Aire grill in my cooktop, which I love cooking on.  However, the downdraft fans that go with those are really not very effective, or my cooking style is bad (could be either) and there's a lot of smoke.  Wasn't really a problem before, but now I have an asthmatic cat and that can't be good for him.  Would also be nice to get two more eyes if I even could at this point.  It's an 80's model cooktop and the moving company packed them up when the people moved out.  Can't imagine they would've meant to take those with them.  I know they were there before they moved out because I saw them in the cabinets when we were looking at the house.

The other thing I noticed, a week or so ago Dave was presenting this and said it was on special or clearance priced because they were clearing it out of stock.  He said it's not that they would be getting rid of the Foodi Grill, but that they wouldn't be selling it in that SIZE.  I thought that was the only size it was offered in.  I don't need a bigger one, it's just the two of us.

Also wondered if the air fryer function was as good as the stand-alone air fryers.  I got the impression from others here that the air fryer function on the Foodi Pressure Cooker wasn't really as good as the stand-alone air fryers.

@JeanLouiseFinch I was wondering about the temp probe thing.  Does it allow for you to use one of those with the cable that comes to the outside of the unit?  I didn't know if you had to lock the lid down or something that wouldn't allow for the cable to pass to the outside.

@Icegoddess  In all the pictures I’ve seen, the probe attaches to the outside of the unit and the other end is pierced into the food, with the cord crossing the unit rim where the lid and base would close.  The lid just lays down to close, it doesn’t actually lock down the way a Foodi or Instant Pot does.
