@skatting44   I haven't had to sign for mine in the past 2 years.  But I do have to be home for it.  I guess they take one look at me and figure, why bother?

But they will not leave it at my doorstep.  Once they made a 2nd attempt at delivery, and that worked out fine.  Another time I missed both attempts and I had to drive to the UPS delivery depot not far from me to pick it up myself.  I had to sign for it there.

When I lived in an apartment, I believe I had to sign for the wine (it was a few years ago).  I am now living in a house and I ordered wine around last Thanksgiving and did not have to sign.  UPS just left the box inside my entryway.  There were no markings on the box and the wine was very well packed.  I am almost ready to order another case for this holiday season and beyond.

My advice to you would be to check the tracking often to see exactly when the wine will be delivered so that you can ensure that someone will be home in case they do require a signature.  I was ready to sign when mine was delivered, but he just left the box and took off.

Thanks for all of your help ladies. My order came yesterday. I knew I wasn't going to be home so I left a note on my door for Fedex to leave box at my house but if delivery required a signature to go to my neighbor Marilyn's house & she will sign for it. As it turned out, he just left the box and never asked for her signature. The box was nicely packaged. The outside didn't have any large print of what was inside only a small sticker that said alcohol was inside. They also put egg carton like containers inside holding the wine. Now I know what to expect if I decide to order again.

I had Gaze wine delivered. It was in a box with dividers. This wine comes in aluminum bottles. And I didn't have to sign, but if no one answers the door, they will not leave it.

No--I'm not a wine drinker but heard on the radio an ad, for Total Wine that delivers now----

Last year I ordered food and several bottles of wine from Costco thru Instacart. I had to sign for the wine.
