Take your pan and pour Dishwasher detergent in it and then pour in very hot water and let it soak overnight. Works every time ...

I take water and heat the water in the pan until very hot. Then I let the water cool enough to put my hand into it and I scrub off the residue. It comes right off.

I often use Ivory Bar Soap with a flat green scrubbing pad. For removing stuck-on eggs. Let the wet, moistened soap sit awhile to loosen, then rub off in a circular motion. It seems to always work for me!

Oh, if that doesn't work, try a plain white toothpaste, such as Colgate or inexpensive Pepsodent. Not the fancy varieties with all of the whiteners, bells and whistles.

On 3/4/2015 Thats Me said: Hi. This is an interesting post! I don't mean to derail it either but I just had an experience w/ a HA pressure cooker that had a burned on crust of rice in the bottom, yikes! (My fault, guess I didn't add enough water). First I boiled water with dishwashing liquid in it to loosen the crust, used some elbow grease and a wooden spoon to scrape off what I could. That did some good but not enough. Then I went online and read to use baking soda; thankfully it worked great and everything still on there came off. Of course after doing that I read NOT to use baking soda on HA aluminum because it can damage the surface and (if its calphalon, which my pan isn't) void the warranty. Well, guess I was lucky that time! Does anyone know a safe method for removing burned food on hard anodized? I can't promise not to mess up like that again! Thanks so much for your help! ETA also read not to use vinegar!
Read this for great information and good luck!

I guarantee this works....and I bet it won't cost you extra $$$ or a trip to the store!.
Run hot hot hot tap water (or boil a kettle, your choice) into the pan in your sink. Add one dryer sheet. Poke the sheet down into the water with a fork until totally wet. Let sit. Preferably for an hour or so. Come back to a pan with all the gunk floating and you can EASILY just rinse and be done (don't let the dryer sheet go down into the disposal
!!
Something about the softener product in the sheets that releases the burned on gunk !! Whenever my DH is alone in the kitchen, this is a life (or marriage!!) saver!
