Re: Any experience with no-boil lasagna noodles?

I've had great success with them.

Re: Any experience with no-boil lasagna noodles?

I prefer the no-boil because they are thinner.  If the grocery store is out of them (which will be likely tomorrow when I go to get them) I will get the regular ones and follow the same procedure someone posted about.  I lie them in a baking pan and cover them with warm water for about ten minutes.  They soften up just enough.  HOwever, I still prefer the no bake because of the thickness issue.

Yes, I have tried them, no will not use them again. The texture was bad, did not have a good mouth feel at all. I used Birilla brand I believe. That was a one and done purchase for me. Boiled is best for me and it doesn't take any effort to get a better result.

I've not used them but noticed an online recipe for making lasagna in the Foodi or Instant Pot that calls for them so I may one day buy for this purpose.  The plus is having a smaller amount for two people, I believe the recipe makes 2 small pan fulls -- cook one, freeze one.

I have been using regular noodles witout boiling them for years.  Just add  more water to the baking pan.  Turns out perfect!

Yes, they worked great for us when we lived at Camp Ripley in a temporary place with no real kitchen.  I used them in the croc-pot!

I've always used regular lasagna noodles and didn't cook them ahead of time.  Never had a problem.

They work just as well as boiling the noodles.  No difference at all.   Saves time and a pot.
