If so, I came across a great new series - The Donut Shop Mysteries, by Jessica Beck. 
In them the amateur sleuth is the divorced owner of a donut shop in a small NC town where everyone knows everyone else. She's dating a state police offical, and her mother - whom she lives with since her divorce - is going out with the local chief of police. I was hooked after the first book, and ordered the entire series! They're light, easy reading, and I like them much better than Diane Mott-Davidson's work.
Like other culinary series, these books all have recipes scatted throughout each book....for all kinds of DONUTS!
