Any New Year's Resolutions about your Temp-tations purchasing?

For those who do buy and enjoy Temp-tations, do you have any goals or resolutions for the New Year concerning your TT and/or purchases.

I'm up for a little more organizing, and maybe getting rid of some. I have some pieces that have crazed and they are going out the door, as well as some OW accessory pieces that just don't get used.

I'm not going to buy any more Old World, as I've really come to like Floral Lace and Vintage Grace better. ONly exception to this might be the old world Harvest as I use that pattern now all fall.

I will be only buying things that mix well with my most favorite patterns, hopefully solids, and I resolve to NOT start any new patterns.

I have already gone to waiting for clearance on most things, as I have way too much, and that gives me time to decide if I really like/need it. It used to be if you waited till markdowns, you would loose out, but not so for most things now. Lots of things are still available in most colors by they time they mark down, and many things now are just repeats of previous items.

I never buy a TSV either. Haven't for several years. They are usually riddled with defects because they make them too fast. Best pieces are the ones that they show very little on air, seems they make less and make them better.

Re: Any New Year's Resolutions about your Temp-tations purchasing?

i am hoping for more solid colors or raised patterned pieces. i also hope she will be incorporating more modern/contemporary pieces into the collection. i am not into the old world pieces because they dont really go with any of the dishes and serve-ware that i already have.

i would also love to see specialty items that will showcase certain foods. for example, i bought the pineapple serving dish and spoon. it was perfect during the holidays for fruit salads. i went back when i first bought it and got two more to give as gifts. i also got a lot of use out of the poppy salad bowl and smaller bowls. i used it to make a caesar salad and a nutty berry field green salad. the smaller bowls are perfect to serve the salad dressings or toppings. i had bought both the red and the green version of this set and i received lots of compliments on it. i think that the specialty items make really nice gifts also.

I swear (ha!) the only thing I would consider this year is a set of dinnerware in Springfetti, if it shows up. I love Springfetti and between QVC and Temp-tations' web site, I have just about everything but that (in that color . . .).

Springfetti and the Fireworkfetti were very popular in their limited releases last year. Hopefully they will expand on those offerings. I noticed that lots of the poinsettia pattern lasted the entire season this year, so hopefully those spring/summer patterns will follow suit.

Trying not to laugh this heading caught my eye...I didn't realize Temptations were literally THAT tempting that you were addicted and had to make a resolution not to buy any...lol..just kidding

For some reason I thought they were junk..I have scanned topic headings often and read many with problems..but they must just be the minority lol..

Good luck on the resolution.

While I am fond of the pieces I own , esp. My rooster cassaroles, I really do not need or feel compelled to buy more. I saw a picture on Facebook of someone who put up shelves in her kitchen to hold all her TT , OMG, it was an entire wall, floor to ceiling and wall to wall. What on earth would make anyone buy that much bakeware? IMO, it did not look pretty stacked on shelves and I'm sure it is probably too dusty to actually use it. At some point you have to think this person needs therapy.

As do those who constantly find fault with others choices.

I got an OW confetti bread box as a gift and, while I like the function of it, I keep hoping it will break so I have an excuse to buy a new one in floral lace. However, it seems to be quite durable. I am not a fan of OW at all and would not buy it myself. All of my pieces are other patterns , seashells, daisy and gingham and the roosters. The gingham and the roosters are up in our camper. I use them as both bakeware and serveware up there.

Maybe instead of instantly making a negative judgement and thinking she needs therapy, you could look at different possibilities, such as... maybe she does a lot of cooking for a very large family, maybe she does a lot of cooking using her own dishes for church suppers/functions, etc. Maybe she just has a LOT of friends and entertains them. And maybe she just likes the product. There are plenty of people who have posted here that they have all these sets of TT and still buying - they've just never posted pictures. And according to your prior statements, there have been TENS OF MILLIONS OF SETS OF TEMPTATIONS SOLD, which according to the figure from Tara's website of "just over 1 million happy customers", would mean an average of TEN SETS PER CUSTOMER.

And unless you have telescopic vision, I doubt you could see any dust in the picture. Why would you assume "I'm sure it is probably too dusty to use it"? It could very well be in pristine condition, but you can't see that in a picture either.
