Absolutely! It's totally worth it for me. I love the streaming tv, and I order so much stuff on Amazon, it's money well spent.

When I got my kindle, I signed up for prime. Found it wasn't cost effective for me, so I didn't renew.

Mine is up soon and I am still debating. I ship gifts to Hawaii and it does save me money in that regard, just not sure it is that much. I am getting one last order in before it expires just in case. I did ask them if you renewed early could you get the old price and they said no, so I am taking that into consideration too. They might have kept more members if that was an option.

I let mine go this time

I was using it to order stuff for my mother but no longer need that, and sometimes things are not coming in 2 days but via the dreaded smart post!

Needs change

I get deliveries at least twice a week but have never gotten anything sent using Smart Post. Are you sure it was a Prime purchase? Sometimes other vendors use it.

yes I, when I had Prime I searched only for Prime items, it happened maybe twice and I didn't feel like dealing with it. There were a few posts on the Amz BBds about it too. that was also a factor in my not renewing. Maybe it wasn't smartpost but it certainly wasn't the 2 days that was "contracted" for.

What about when you return items to Amazon. They charge a hefty restocking fee - sometimes so much it's not worth it. Does having a Prime membership alleviate the restocking fee????

I've returned a ton of things and have never been charged a restocking fee.

I have never been charged for returns and the refund comes so much quicker than the Q and the return gets there faster than the Q. Much better CS than the Q. The CS nice on the Q, but they have no power to do anything most of the time and have to E mail corporate, well I can e mail corporate myself. They never answer. Amazon takes care of the problem right away by phone.

Well worth it for me. We use the streaming a lot also. Shipping alone is worth it. The last 10 items I purchased within the last 2 months were prime eligible and rarely is anything not covered.

I have never been charged a restocking fee also. The last item I ordered (clothing) and a way wrong size was sent but as soon as they received confirmation that I sent it back, I received the correct item the next day.

Amazon uses it own version of Smart Post. Most packages I receive come from Kentucky to my local airport. The final stage of delivery is UPS or Post Office.
