I made and served Easter dinner in a different (for me lately) fashion today. I have spent the last several years building up my Temp-tations collection, as I love to set a table and buffet line that are all matching/coordinating, and have served many big or holiday meals the last couple of years in such fashion.

Today I decided to go retro. I set the table with the Currier and Ives set that I grew up with as our "good dishes" and prepared all the food in my ever growing collection of vintage pyrex, many pieces from my childhood. The table looked very coordinated (with all matching pieces and condiment containers) and just like my growing up years, right down to my mom's silver from the 1950's. The food buffet line I set up in the kitchen reminded me of the pictures of our family gatherings in the 1950's and 60's. Lots of Pyrex primary colored bowls, flamingo pink casserole, and various goosberry and amish butterprint bowls. It was bright and springy, and took me back decades to the way a meal was served in our family back then. No color coordination, no rhyme or reason, just lots of Pyrex and good food. Everything baked up fine, sticking not a problem and clean up was easy. Have to wonder why so many people left this product behind for good. I admit I have expanded, but still love and use the old stuff, and had such a wonderful and nostalgic afternoon.
