Is the 48 oz vitamix big enough or would you suggest the 64 whichwould not fit under my cabinet.

When I bought my Vitamix it came with the 64 oz. container. It fits under the cabinet, but is not accessible that way. I'd always have to pull it out to the front of the counter to use it. Was it a big deal? Not really, and I could have lived with it if I had to, but when I was able to I ordered a 48 oz. container from ABT dot com. Using the smaller container is more convenient as I can leave the base pushed back. For general daily use, I think the 48 oz. is fine, but I'm glad to still have the larger container in case I'm making a large batch of something for several people (ie. pitcher of frozen drinks, smoothies, soup).

I wouldn't have any way of knowing if the 48oz is big enough for YOU, but it's big enough for me. I didn't want that huge one because, for my needs, the 48oz is plenty large. I actually even purchased a 32oz too and use that one just as much.

In addition to really not needing the really huge one, I did like the idea of it fitting under cabinets too. Funny thing is - I've had my Vitamix on a counter that doesn't have cabinets above it. ha! Go figure.
