My toaster is over 3 years old with just a insignia on the side.  Others have come out.  DH loves to toast the bread for a sandwich.

 

I looked for wide slots, even toasting, and longevity.

I've had the best luck with the cheapest thing on the shelf in any big box store. 

 

I've had some expensive ones, and they never really lasted or did that great a job. The cheapo ones lasted up to 10 years, and gave the best performance.
