It's rather heavy duty. However, I have an ice cream scoop that works excellent. I would suggest using that.

18/10 is the highest quality stainless flatware out there.

18/10 doesn't have anything to do with the weight or quality of flatware. It just means nickel has been added so it retains its shine.

I have to disagree with the last comment, all of my previous sets are 18/0 and dont have near the weight and durablilty as my current 18/10 set.

Yes, it is .... in my opinion 18/10 is the preferred weight for utensils .. they keep looking good for a long time & yes, you can scoop ice cream out of the carton with 18/10 & it does not bend.

18/10 does not refer to or serve as a measurement of weight.
Here's one explanation:
18/8 and 18/10 refer to the percentages of chromium and nickel in the stainless steel alloy. The "18" refers to the chromium content, which gives flatware its rust-resistant properties, and the "8" or "10" refers to the nickel content, which gives flatware a deeper lustre, or shine.
For info about 18/10 and 18/0 flatware, this is one source:

@Kachina624 ~ I ordered a 20 pc. set from Amazon last year. It's very weighty & solid...I scoop ice cream with the teaspoon all the time, works great! Imprint on back says Ginko 18c stainless. Not sure, but I think Ginko might be pattern name, but it is plain (smooth), no pattern but nicely shaped, fits well in the hand.
