Can the Judith Ripka rings be sized? I am between sizes.

Most of her rings have sizing bars and can be sized up or down a half or one size. Take to a jeweler and they will determine if and what can be done. Good luck!

Unless the jeweler has special equipment, you will not be happy with the result. Silver is difficult to size and the normal soldering process will leave a black line. Also, the heat will likely burn off the rhodium coating that is used on the item. A quick flash replate of rhodium that most jewelers do, will not last. You need someone who specializes in silver jewelry repair.

I have yet to find a jeweler who will size a Ripka ring. They usually say the dramatic heat changes will cause the stone to crack. I have had small repairs (e.g., reattaching a charm) done by jewelers using laser soldering -- it just leaves a very small dark spot.

If it is a JR2 or couture ring, the Ripka company will resize it if you send it to them.

If you find a good silversmith, there won't be a line. I think that's why most jewelry stores will send the silver items out, rather than work on it themselves.

I had a JR2 ring refurbished before I sold it bayside a few years ago. It only had a few little scuffs on the shiny sizing bar, they buffed out the scuffs and replated it. It cost me around $100 to have this work done by the Ripka Co. in New York. The rhodium plating is an 'antique' finish, not a uniform high polish finish, Judith often calls it a high-low finish when she's on-air. So, the OP needs to find a jeweler that can duplicate the 'antique' rhodium finish and that's why most jewelers don't want to mess around with sizing a JRQ ring.

An estimated 700,000 people around the world, 400,000 of them children, have died so far due to the discontinuation of the USAID program.

Great information! Thank you all. What is a JR2?

Judith Ripka 2 her sterling and 18k line

As far as sizing goes, is it better to size up (buy larger and make smaller) or size down (buy smaller and make larger)?
