I purchased two bronze covered necklaces covered with 18k gold. Anyone aware of the microns used for coating the bronze, longevity, or immediate issues to this type of jewelry?

I never even thought about it - however I would suggest you could reach out to the company or the manufacturer and ask the same.
Hey - then let me know - I'm curious too now!

Welcome to the QVC Boards!
Many companies now sell gold plated bronze, due to the high cost of gold. It is very economical, much less than the more popular gold over silver.
QVC has a large line called Bronzo Italia. Shop HQ sells Toscana.
Gold plated bronze can potentially last up to two years with care before starting to flake off or tarnish.
Regular wear and exposure to cleaners, salt water or perfume will make it fade more quickly.
I consider gold plated bronze a type of costume jewelry, and think it best to purchase for larger pieces that would be exorbitant in price if done in gold. There is also almost no resale market for these jewelry pieces, but they can be very fun to wear!

They say themselves there is a two year life before it starts wearing through? That would nix any rings in my book.

@FancyPhillyshopper Sounds like the length of time of rhodium over silver. From the internet
The plating on an item that is subjected to a lot of wear or friction, such as a ring, may only last 6-24 months, whereas a necklace, brooch or earrings which comes in less contact with skin or the elements, or is simply worn less, can retain its plating for ten or more years.Sep 5, 2016
Apparently this was delveloped in the 1930's. I hope people don't think this is forever.....

I bought one gold-over-bronze item a couple of years ago. Never again. The gold began to wear off after just a few times wearing it. I typically can't wear silver or any metal other than gold so it could be my skin. I'll just save my money and buy a gold piece every now and then. I found a great online gold jewelry retailer and their prices are a lot lower than Q's.
