can't be bothered to verify stones in $1000 earrings?!?!

Am I the only person to scratch my head and wonder about these sorts of listings?

you want a thousand dollars for these earrings but can't be bothered to take it to a jeweler to figure out if the stones are morganite or amethyst or something else? This isn't the only seller I've see do this either.

I get it if it's a $20 item and it isn't really worth taking to a jeweler but $1000? What am I missing here {#emotions_dlg.confused1}
