Your First Diamond?

[ Edited ]

Who gave you your first diamond?

Asking because of the TSV. (6-11-26)

My grandma gave me my first.

It was for Christmas and it was a cute squirrel holding a diamond chip, like a nut, pendant necklace.

I was around 12 years old.

Being that I was facinated with her wedding ring, heavily diamoned, I was so excited to get a real diamond of my own.

She later bought me, at 15, another diamond pendant and earrings to match.  That time in 14K gold.  I still have the pendant and one of the earrings I, have since placed into another piece of jewelry.  I sadly lost one earring.

Grandma loved her diamonds.

Grandpa told her, "Stick with me, and you'll be wearing diamonds!"

Diamonds are my birthstone.

I did not get my first one until I bought it myself, at around age twenty or so.

I had a part time job while I was in school.

It was a very, very small pendant, one tenth of a carat.

I still have it, although I never wear it.

My collection has expanded exponentially since then!!

And yes, I have bought many of my diamonds myself, because a good education led to a very good career.

I was 15 when my Aunt gave me her white gold diamond ring. I still have the ring.

Mine was my engagement ring when I was 21.  I've really never liked diamonds but I bought some small stud earrings much later.

My first love gave me a tiny diamond promise ring when I was 20.  Unfortunately it didn't work out, and we both married other people, but I still think of him (and the ring) fondly.

When I got married at 26, my mom gave me her engagement ring to have re-set for my wedding.  The diamond was handed down from my great-grandmother Wilomena from the mid-1800s.  I felt blessed to wear it, as I was the youngest of 5 daughters, and it could have gone to any of my sisters.

I was 16 or 17, my dads aunt gave me her wedding ring and her diamond engagement ring.  She got married in 1937.  I still love it, and wear it occasionally.  She wanted to be my godmother, she was godmother to several boys.  My mom chose someone else.  But she was my brother's godmother.

My husbandSmiley Happy

The diamond was from a ring that my father in law who was wonderful, had originally given to a mistress-I know scandalous but very romantic and like something out of a romantic mystery. My mother-in-law became a best friend. I later gave it to my son when he married. Lovely memories.
