Good morning and happy Sunday to us all.

Although it was oh so mild and spring-like when I went out to retrieve the paper @ 6AM, the monsoons are now upon us. Some areas will most likely be hit terribly by flooding, as we have been told to expect more than 3" of rain today. Where's Noah when you need him?

Poor DGD! She came into her brother's game yesterday AM, not in her cheerful, chatty manner. I asked her how she was and she said okay, but clearly she was not herself. Eventually she made her way over to me and laid her head on my lap & I asked if she wanted to be petted, which she did. Fifteen minutes or so later later she made her way over to her daddy, DS#2, and he held her. Before I knew it and could help, she was heaving into a trash can, tears streaming down her face. I gave her some tissues I had and her dad took her home. She never made it to her payoff b-ball game and slept most of the day. WIll call later to her how she's doing.

DGS played a fantastic game and he & his team gave me plenty of laughs.

We got a call from one of our banks/CC companies yesterday asking about the legitimacy of a purchase made on icable. Never heard of it and neither one of us made the purchase. Seems these evil creatures got the CC#, made a one $ purchase to see if the numbers were good and then ventured out to a slightly larger purchase of $104. WHat I can't figure out is why they didn't just purchase gigantic big ticket items and them dump the card. The person form the bank said that this is the way the operations of thief go, to first do a test and then go bigger. She also asked, through DH, for me to check recent purchases on the Q. I try to keep DH out of the link until it's time to actually see the CC bills; no reason to get his undies in a twist before necessary. Then DH said I should call the Q, explain what's going on and cancel out this card until they send us a new card this week. Oh my gosh, I had visions of the CS person transferring all purchases onto one CC! What a disaster that would be! She didn't. All that was done was to note the problem in my account and to terminate the CC in question. Whew! Very creepy episode and I think we got away lucky.

Off to get some stuff done and batten down the hatches.
