The surgeon called me with the final pathology report today. It is not the news we had anticipated. My tumor was Stage One cancer. The surgeon said that because he saw no invasion of the cancer, no other medical procedures need to be taken at this time. I will give my oncologist a call later today and discuss everything with him as well. This news really set me back on my butt and left me dumbfounded. After the visual designation of the tumor of benign I really didn't expect to hear the word cancer right now. As I write this at almost 2:30am, my mind will not be quiet and let me rest. I suppose I have yet to fully process this unexpected news. I am so grateful for my regular GI doctor on insisting that I do a colonoscopy every three years, flying in the face of the recommended frequency of this test. I am clinging to the glass being half full; I know that in a few days, once I gain my equilibrium, I will fully grasp, not just cling. Sincere thanks for the continued support of so many nice ladies on this Forum.
