The last time I sold gold, about 9 months ago, I compared several local jewelers to US Gold Buyers.com and US Gold beat everyone by a mile. I weighed my gold, sent it to them with their prepaid label and I had my cash in less than 2 days. They post their payout on their website so you can compare it if you get other quotes.

I went to a pawn shop once, never again.  Their payout rate was too low.  I found a local jeweler who buys gold and go there when I have small amounts to sell. If I have a lot to sell, I go to US Gold Buyers since they have higher payouts for larger amounts of gold.

US Gold Buyers.  I have delt with them many times.  Remove the gems becasue they won't want them unless you have large exceptional diamonds.  They show their rates daily on their website.

I agree, US Gold Buyers. Presently the buyout price is way down.

@KalliI sold all my heavy gold jewelry to an upscale pawn shop called Bellevue Rare coins.  

I made over $15,000 the first visit and returned later to sell another $3000 more.  Very fair and honest.
