I didn't watch. In fact, I'm finding the whole Ripka overload sort of boring, so turned off even her first show after about an hour and a half, but think I honestly prefer Beth presenting to seeing her son and daughter in law... She not only does a good job, but I think it's great that they've chosen to feature someone who helped craft the business other than family, most of whom came on the scene once the business was a success or married into it...

GraceCo,

I can tell by your response on a previous thread ("I think Judith is a beautiful person inside and out.") that you aren't saying these things as a hater, so I think people should be aware of that. I don't think that the other designers do as many shows as Judith, including late-evening and early-morning ones at that. Personally, I think it is wise that she picks and chooses which shows to appear on so that she is fresh and ready to go. After all, Rick isn't going to be her host for every show!

I, too, miss Allison and Brian, and their absence has not been explained. At the same time, I think that Beth is delightful and knows her stuff. As far as her accent, it doesn't bother me, and I find her to be very warm and personable while having a NYC vibe to her, which there is nothing wrong with. After all, NYC is the location of the flagship store, and that is where it's at. I think the accent comment was a little over the top. Do you dislike Hagit for hers?

Beth is no stranger to the QVC shows, has been referenced, seen and spoken to over the years. These shows wouldn't run as smoothly as they do if not for her, and she is probably more knowledgeable about what is being presented than anyone in the organization and when, and I am sure Judith would proudly be the first one to admit it.

I had never seen Beth before but she did an excellent job. I kept thinking that her hair style was very cute and that Jane should try that cut and style!! It would look cute on her.

Beth does a phenomenal job - love watching her and her knowledge of the jewelry.

Me too! I was actually surprised how well she did right out of the gate! Seemed like she'd been doing it for years.

Beth has been on air before. She was on a few times when Judith had shows last year.

I think she does a great job. She is very knowledgeable about the pieces, and the details of the designs.

I don't mind that Judith is not there for each and every show. It would be very difficult. I really enjoy Beth when she is on air. She is very warm and enthusiastic as well as extremely knowledgeable about the jewelry. I do wonder what happened to Allison as we haven't seen her in some time.

Grace, if you don't like a person's accent, perhaps you should turn your attention to other jewelry channels to find the accent that is acceptable to you. Your comments are incendiary and I think, purposefully so. When Allison was on, many people said unkind things about her. When Judith is presenting, people say unkind things about her, too. There is just no pleasing everyone. We all have different accents, depending upon our geographical location. That is part of what makes us all unique individuals. We are all human beings, and I think we need to find a way to be kinder to each other, rather than less kind and less tolerant. Well that's my sermon for today!

JB, thank you for saying this. I think Beth is an absolute delight. She really knows her "stuff." I am a born and raised New Yorker, and extremely proud of it, will now put the OP on ignore. I guess she just "branded " herself with IGNORE!

It's game day, people, THE game of the year. I figured that's where JR's kiddos are... {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

I appreciate your thoughts and response, and yes, I'm not a hater. I'm a long standing customer and admirer of Judith Ripka. Like I said above, I'm born and raised in New Jersey and lived in Manhattan for many years, so this is not coming from an anti-East coast bias at all. It's an opinion I'm sharing and maybe some find it blunt, but I can guarantee that "accents" are always factored in when deciding on spokespeople. Focus groups reveal consistently that those accents--regardless of where they're from--can be a deterrent for people in other parts of the country and can impact sales. That's just reality and you can be sure QVC tests that all the time.

Hi GraceCO,

That was Beth with Jane. She works with Judith and Beth is very knowledgeable with all JR's pieces. I have no idea where Allison and Brian are?? However, Judith will be on at 11:00am this morning.......see ya later

Enjoy!!

Geez. From a branding standpoint, it's an interesting move to bring in a new person--a non-family member--to represent the JR line. As a customer, it's a BIG turnoff and makes me think they're taking their very loyal customer base for granted. Judith IS the brand and seeing her son or DIL fill in for her makes sense. I think "Beth" is very ineffective--I won't be watching JR when she's on.

Looking forward to seeing Judith on air later today.

Beth may be new to most of us, but she has worked for Judith for 10 years. I tend to disagree with Beth's effectiveness. She is quite knowledgeable and she has been on air before. She has also been to a few of the Ripkanista luncheons. She is well known.
