Whats the difference between a pendant and an enhancer?

Im not a jewelry person. I have some pieces that I like but jewelry is just not my thing.

Anyway, I thought a pendant was a piece that hangs off of a chain. I saw a few enhancers being sold last night and I would have thought they were pendants.

So whats the difference?
