What the JR Forum Means to a Ripkanista

In another thread about "Brian's gift", posts have been flying fast and furious. One of the posters who is realitivly new to the forum mentioned that "this is business". She is correct that QVC along with it's vendors are all about promoting their product not everyone is happy all the time with QVC service and/or products and if thee is a legitimate concern then it should be voiced to the appropriate persons and dealt with in a timely manner. But....... This board is NOT about business it is about cultivating face to face and cybre friendships it is about chatting with like-minded women who enjoy shopping, who like to wear Judith Ripka and appreciate that everyone posting has a variety of styles and tastes. In all the years I have been a customer and a poster I have learned many things and not just about jewelry or Judith Ripka. I have laughed and wept after reading some posts. I have felt my fellow Ripkanistas pain and joy when I read about serious illness, loss of a loved one, becoming a mom or grand mom, traveling to a new place, getting a new piece of jewelry or clothes, getting a damaged package, and so much more. I have prayed for My Ripka Sisters when they asked and when they haven't. I have asked for my Ripka Sisters prayer when I was in serious need and it was done. So, this board is NOT about business, it is about relationships. Some of us have known each other for years. Others are new and everyone received a warm welcome and we look forward to hearing news and opinions. Many of us have bought from each other, sold to one another and swapped JR pieces. That in itself takes a special relationship. The ATL Ripkanistas are a prime example of this board bringing us together over two years ago just to talk jewelry. And , here we are years later, we are the best of friends who share so much more than the love of shopping. We care about one another and would do anything to help one another. That IS what this board is about - ups and downs of life - and I trust that it will continue to be so. Bless you all
