Annabelle: welcome to the watch collectors thread. We like watches, all watches, from the most inexpensive fashion watches to the better high end watches. We've learned to look at the specifications of a watch and then decide if it's worth what ever they are charging. If there is a watch you are considering buying, either for yourself or a gift, let us know and we will be happy to give you some info so you can make the best decision for yourself.

I don't know the exact style name of the watch but I typed in some info that was on the back of the case and have no clue how to paste the picture. Lol.Fashion: glad you found us on the June Watch Collectors thread. We start a new thread every month. It just seems easier to navigate that way. I haven't heard of that brand, but I'm going to see if I can find out anything. There are so many watch brands out there... from high end to fashion, that I'm sure there are many, many, many that I haven't heard of before.
ETA: I checked their web site.... they are Swiss made watches
, with Swiss movements that are either quartz (battery) or automatic. Styles are classic and some have very interesting complications like moon phase. I haven't checked price points yet, but when I googled the brand I saw they were offered on Amazon. From the specs I saw I'd say they were a well made watch, but typical of womens watches, the water resistance level is only about 100ft and they crystal over the dial is not sapphire (at least on the few I looked at).
Hope this helps. Bottom line, it looks like a good watch.
Enjoy your new watch.... which style did you receive?

Fashion: It can be very complicated. The movement of the watch can be Swiss Made (parts are Swiss and assembled in Switzerland) or Swiss Parts (meaning parts are Swiss but assembled outside of Switzerland, usually in Asia). Then there are watches with Swiss Made movements but the watch is put together outside of Switzerland.
From the Swiss watch industry website this is what constitutes a "Swiss Made" Watch:
Swiss quality depends on the amount of work actually carried out on a watch in Switzerland, even if some foreign components are used in it. It therefore requires that the assembly work on the movement (the motor of the watch) and on the watch itself (fitting the movement with the dial, hands and the various parts of the case) should be carried out in Switzerland, along with the final testing of the movement. It also requires that at least 50% of the components of the movement should be manufactured in Switzerland

Fashion: Most watches that are all Swiss made are proud of it and will say Swiss Made on the dial, or just Swiss. I suppose there are some that may not say that, but if they don't I wouldn't assume it.

On 6/3/2014 JazzyVR said:Thanks JazzyVR, the Adriatica that I have says Swiss Made right on the bottom portion of the dial. The info you provided was very informative. I think that it is very complicated when purchasing a watch to know where every component was made especially since it would not be very practical to give every single country where each component was made or where each was put together. Nonetheless I know I can always trust Swiss Made Movements.Fashion: Most watches that are all Swiss made are proud of it and will say Swiss Made on the dial, or just Swiss. Regarding the Scuba. Now it is on Clearance for $142 and change.
Big changes afoot at the shop. Don't know if I want to share that link for info. Go to the Geeks site. (Some of the information is about Qvc and HSN as well and I don't want to put it here and endanger our little thread.)
Possible hostile takeover in the works? This, of course, spells change in direction, but they don't say how. You bet you won't be seeing Invictathons or many watches.
