Re: Watch Collectors... June 2014

Aubnwa, I feel for you. I'm afraid I'd be checking into a hotel. It's supposed to be 92, here today. I have some things to do outside but will wait until this evening. I left the swamp cooler on all night and it was 59, in the house this morning. I turned it off and it's just starting to get warm in the house. Good luck on the repairman coming soon.

Re: Watch Collectors... June 2014

When I originally called the AC place, I the AC was limping along, but now it runs & doesn't cool anything at all, so I just have the blower fan going. It's now 87° & rising in here. I did call them back & ask them to please make a note on my ticket that I now have NO AC at all, so hopefully that will move me up on the standby list for tomorrow. It's not dangerously warm in here (yet) & I have all my shutters closed against the heat & fans running, so I think we'll be OK. My cat is not a normal heat seeking cat & she's not enjoying this at all & is taking every opportunity to tell me so! She was laying sprawled in front of a fan last time I looked! She's a big gorgeous black & white Maine Coon girly, named Boo.

Aub, great news on your MRI. Happy days.....my favorite cat (which I have never owned) is the Maine Coon. Poor baby in all that heat and such a long coat. Hopefully your AC is fixed soon. Ok ok LJ, I just ordered the GT Scuba and you pushed me off the fence........considering everything it's not a bad price either. Thx for the tip. Smiley Wink)

Re: Watch Collectors... June 2014

Hi Everyone! I have an Adriatica watch that I received as a gift from a family member and just wanted to know if anyone has ever heard of that company and any other thoughts on it? Also wanted to say thank you to lavenderjunkie for welcoming me on the other watch collectors thread. :-)

Re: Watch Collectors... June 2014

Fashion: glad you found us on the June Watch Collectors thread. We start a new thread every month. It just seems easier to navigate that way. I haven't heard of that brand, but I'm going to see if I can find out anything. There are so many watch brands out there... from high end to fashion, that I'm sure there are many, many, many that I haven't heard of before.

ETA: I checked their web site.... they are Swiss made watches {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}, with Swiss movements that are either quartz (battery) or automatic. Styles are classic and some have very interesting complications like moon phase. I haven't checked price points yet, but when I googled the brand I saw they were offered on Amazon. From the specs I saw I'd say they were a well made watch, but typical of womens watches, the water resistance level is only about 100ft and they crystal over the dial is not sapphire (at least on the few I looked at).

Hope this helps. Bottom line, it looks like a good watch.

Enjoy your new watch.... which style did you receive?

Well ladies, I got thru another night of watch shows, enjoyed watching, but bought nothing. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup} Can't say I wasn't tempted to buy more Scuba, but I resisted. Smile

Re: Watch Collectors... June 2014

I know zip about watches and most of the one's I own (I own a lot of them) but they are all inexpensive.

Anyway, I saw where HSN yesterday had a few hours here and there with nothing but men's watches. Some were inexpensive and some were expensive.
