Something tells me they all knew their business.
I'd love to know if it was given to somebody or just bought for investment purposes.

I can think of better things to do with my 50 million. As for the pad, I like the softer color on the blue background. I have some deep pink CZ's that I thought were rather tacky. Perhaps I should re-evaluate and wear them again.

@depglass even if you were Elon Musk? This amount of money means nothing to those rich folk. As for the Sapphire the one that would fetch the most is the darker orangey/pinkish color. That is the "ideal color" for a Padpradascha Sapphire. You can see the two colors in the stone. The lighter one would cost a pretty penny but not nearly as much as the other one. They are extremely rare colors of sapphires and they can be found with some heft (if you can find one).

I have a feeling that is what the sale of this stone is all about. People with money don't keep acquiring wealth by not knowing what they are doing, @SharkE you're right!

It is the most vivid pink color I've ever seen in a pink diamond! But I have understood that the larger stones can have a much higher saturation of color. 11+ carats is huge! maybe that's some of the explanation.

@Thats Me Larger Rough to Stone can be in any color. Size does not have a thing to do with the color.

This is .73 carat intense yellow rough UNCUT diamond. See how small it is and see the "saturation of color?" Again, size has nothing to do with "color." See areas of the stone that will not be used to fashion a cut diamond? I do. Wonder what size this will ultimately be? Maybe a .50 carat yellow diamond.
When buying we are told to adhere to the 4C's of Cut, Clarity, Color, Carat. Doesn't mean the bigger diamond you have the more color will be displayed from the stone. This really is just common sense.
