Hello all!
May is here and it's time for a new thread. A warm welcome to all watch lovers. We'll be very happy to hear about new acquisitions or buying decisions. May kicks of gift--buying season and watches still make nice Mother's Day, graduation and wedding gifts.
Summer has arrived in the Northeast-- for a few days anyway. This means white watches, Bright watches! And when that mercury climbs....no watches. ![]()
For those of you who love abalone on your dials, evine as a few very nice pieces. Aragon's Starhalo is now very affordably priced at $69.99, for example.

Hi everyone. Java, thanks for starting our May thread.
I love the abalone dials, and the price on the one you mentioned is excellent. StarHalo is a nice looking watch, but the moving rings make me edgy. I think many ladies like the movement and little bit of sparkle.
Wearing a goldtone watch with white mop dial and a light green peridot gemstone bezel. I coordinated it with the Dooney and Bourke key lime zip zip satchel. Together they are my welcome to spring weather... finally. Although I do admit it's getting too warm for me. Are our choices 50 or 90? I think I'd choose 50 if I could have it with a side of sunshine. ![]()
I've been trying to rotate my watch choices to give more of them some wrist time.
Off to the jeweler today with another bag of watches that need batteries. I have a backlog to work through. The downside of watch collection. But as long as it's only a battery, I'm not complaining.
My collecting is moving onto high end soap. It's always been something I love. Now that I've discovered Beekman 1802, I'll be the cleanest person on the planet for the next decade.
I've been trying the different scents. A little luxury to start the day and no calories.
The formula in the soap might even be good for the skin.

I wasn't sure we even had a May thread, it was burried on page 2. But I found it. ![]()
I was just checking throught the Clearance ladies watches over on E. There are quite a few intersting buys at deep discounts. I saw the S. Coifman Swiss automatic, a winner that both Jena and I own. And the Invicta Prodiver automatics with the gemstone bezel are also heavily discounted. That's a sharp looking watch with either the black spinel or blue apatite bezel. I love the red roman #s on the dial of the black spinel version.
There are also some other nicely priced watches for gifts or just to add something new to the accessory collection.
Many watch shows today, but I don't know if any of these will be presented. Easy enough to find by looking at watches, clearance, ladies.

Hello everyone. I’ve really been out of the watch business lately. I know I have many dead ones stacking up but I can’t bring myself to look for them.. I’ll have to make 2 or more trips to my jeweler this time, for I’ll have way too many for her. I like to hang around and watch, for I don’t want just anyone putting the batteries in.
Today I have the blue apatite bezel watch on and it’s a beauty. I’m amazed at our beauties we have collected. With the specs these days, not even close to what we bought, I can’t get enthused. But that S. Coifmen in the SS still tempts me but I don’t know why. I have more than enough of the black or charcoal MOP dials with SS but they just aren’t automatic. If I can catch that one less than $200. and free shipping, it’s mine. Then I’m done again.!!!
I’ll have to go look at the E site, thx to our threads enabler........Lol. I’ll be back soon........

I see the two gemstone watches offered but the ones I purchased had a different bracelet.
The S Coifman is not under 200$ yet and it has shipping, so I will not buy. I had that watch once and on a quick whim, returned it. Big mistake. So because I paid the freight both ways before, I will not pay it again. Since I don’t need the watch, just want it.....lol.
I haven’t watched any shows so I have not been tempted. Anyone buying these days?

Oh gees ..... I have wanted an abalone watch for the longest time, and for some reason, the Evine watches were either too busy or not available in my choice ...... one thing at a time. I have to deal with my recent acquisitions first.
So ...... I've been wanting a new watch ..... and my cat Bogey was very insistent he wanted to buy me one for Mother's Day, so I decided to let him have his way.
I've been watch-ing two on here .... the Ripka leather and the Honora MOP. Couldn't decide so I figured I'd just order both and select one ..... you already know where this is going. I really like both of them. A lot.
So, the jury is still out .... stay tuned. LOL ![]()

Tinkrbl: congratulations on your new watches. Sometimes when you find something that speaks to you, you just need to go for it. Enjoy.
Jena: the watch we bought with the gemstone bezel (black spinel or blue apatite) was a SAN I. They also have the style in a Grand Diver, which is the version that is available now and on clearance. Both the SAN I and the Grand Diver versions have the same automatic movements. The case and bracelet design are different and the water resistance level is different also. Over time one or the other has been at a better price. That was part of the reason I got the SAN I version. Now the Grand Diver is the only one left. I'd go for it if I didn't already have the SAN I. I think the black spinel version with the red roman # on the dial is a very sharp looking watch. The blue apatite version is very pretty, but that gemstone is fragile and on these watch bezels, sometimes the blue apatite isn't consistent or perfect. And sometimes it is. I went thru several different styles, over several years, until I got a blue apatite bezel that met my standards. Black spinel bezels on several watches were always perfect first time out.

Hi Tinkrbl44. I had to smile when you said you bought both and going to return one. Oh, I’ve been there a few times and usually kept both. Good luck on returning one. Let us know which one had to go back. ![]()
The closest I came last night to watching the Invicta shows was having it on for background while I was trying to go to sleep. A few times my curiousity was peaked and I had to open one eye. Luckily it was always for a gents watch and a quartz. I’m only after automatics now.
Incidentally, I like both of your watches. Hmmmmm....which is going back. ![]()
ETA: Oh I see LavJ responded back too. I love our SAN 1 and the bracelet made the difference to me over the other one.

The white MOP and topaz is just too stunning to return, but I think I have to keep them both ..... big surprise, eh?
