I'm happy for you LJ.  A keeper.  I'm tickled the diamonds look good but you know as well as I.....don't loupe them.  

I thought one Diamond Karamica was enough but if you start buying more.....well then I may look.  Question.  How could, after all this time new shrink wrapped Karamicas appear??

Jena:  it's a good question and one that has been puzzling me.  Of course the simple explanation is they wrapped it up before shipment.... changed the battery, gave it a polish with a dust cloth, and added some plastic wrap.  Now that's more care then they have taken in the past. 

Or maybe this was the last remaining sample or display model.  They decided they are not producing them anymore,  so why hold the watch.  Or maybe they found it in the back of the warehouse where it had been misfiled for years.  I don't know, but I'm glad it's a good one.

Well LJ, my thinking is...they have gathered up the 'as is's and decided between them all they would make some good ones out of the others.  The end result probably is good as new.  So then they shrink wrap it and we don't know.  All we know is that it runs, looks sharp and it keeps running before the time runs out before we can't send it back.  At this late point, they are far from new.  But if you got yourself a good one, that's great.  I'd take a new good one too.  I love those Karamica's even though my jeweler hates them the most.

I was late to the Karamica party--I only have five! I almost feel like I should search out another one before they go away.

aprimo:  out of curiosity,  I just checked on ewatches and nothing came up when I searched karamica.  I wonder if any will pop up in the future,  as the one I got did.

That's strange.  I can't find any Karamicas on WOW either.

Jena:  it's probably just as well.  The last thing I need is another Karamica.  But if they were around, at great prices,  I'd be tempted to keep searching and you know how I am when it comes to a great sales price.  And then who knows how lucky I would be on the next one.

Hi, all. Someone in another thread suggested I post here. I'm looking to buy a high-end watch but obviously don't want to pay retail. If you know of a local jeweler that is reputable and willing to discount/negotiate, please let me know. Location doesn't matter as long as it's in the US (I don't mind dealing over the phone.) Also, has anyone purchased from Tourneau? If yes, did you have any luck negotiating?
