Re: WATCH COLLECTORS........DECEMBER 2015

Hi Java.  Thanks for starting the December Watch Collectors thread.

My abalone dial 42mm is due to be delivered today or tomorrow.   I can't wait to see that dial.  Hopefully it will be a winner.

Re: WATCH COLLECTORS........DECEMBER 2015

The Swiss Legend ceramic Titanio with the black dial was down to $69 yesterday on WoW. But I guess they only had a few available at that price and I was too slow. Somebody else grabbed it while I was trying to remember my password. Oh well, I needed it like a hole in my head, but that price was too tempting. They still have the SL white ceramic Throttlle with the blue dial available for $39. That shape is not my thing, but I seem to recall someone here lusting after that one a few months ago.

My Invicta Excursion GT/brown strap arrived yesterday. It's a lighter brown than I thought from the pics, but still good looking. I got it at the Once Only price of $136, so I'm quite happy with it. You know I love those Excursions. I'm still annoyed that the ladies Excursion with the bracelet is Swiss parts and is priced higher than the men's 50mm Swiss Made version with the bracelet.

I should probably take another stroll through the Evine site while the coupon is still good.

Good luck sale hunting ladies! Woman Very Happy

Re: WATCH COLLECTORS........DECEMBER 2015

Aprimo, I have been wondering about that Excursion.  I'm interested in the light grey, and now with the 15% off it makes it $115.94.  It makes it hard to not order.  I'm trying NOT to order another watch.  I've been really good but now I have this coupon to tend with.  I buy more watches that I don't want to buy just because I can't refuse.  Can you now get this discount off, even though you ordered it before the code.  Or did you?  Anyway there are only 4 of these grey ones left.  Hmmmmm.

Re: WATCH COLLECTORS........DECEMBER 2015

Hi all....

It is quite dreary and rainy and I am struggling with my project.

Some nice wataches coming in the pipeline.I hope they are all that you would wish for.

aprimo, ITA on the Excursion. I still own the original and never parted with it. Never put it in storage.  I happen to love mine alot. The gunmetal and platinum MOP are a stunning combination and that watch has received so many compliments.  The dumbing down of designs, etc. is one of my pet peeves and you're heard me before on that. The original Swiss model was between  300 and 400 dollars.  They clearanced them out, but I think it was in the 250 range. They were really worth the $400. They were a top value and I paid a little extra because I mised it and I really wanted one. So after tax and shipping, I paid $400. I don't regret that one, because they didn't make any other bracelet versions for a long time.I think that Excursion was the dividing line between the really nice Invictas that cost more and the still nice, but-not-the-same.  The one watch that never changed (except for the crystal) was the Subaqua noma on the bracelet. That has stayed consistently true to the original quality. (I am not talking about the Chibquas they threw on leather strap. About four yers ago, you could also get Selitta movements in watches. What a diference five years has made.

If you search for evine and news, you wil discover that evine has been trying to move away for jewelry. (They might lump watches in that category.) And as a result, they steeply discounted merchandise to move it out.

They didn't do well last quarter and in fact, suffered their greatest losses.  Who knows what will happen with them?

So get those deals while they're hot, ladies.

Re: WATCH COLLECTORS........DECEMBER 2015

My SS Abalone dial SAN III arrived and it's a beauty.   The 42mm dial, with no annoying subdials, is a vibrant Abalone in shades of blue and green. The larger size of the dial is perfect to show off the Abalone.   I'm glad I finally got this watch.  If it was on a bracelet it would be even better,  but I'll get used to the strap.  (At least the strap is high quality leather).  I like the bright SS with the Abalone.  I think the GT and the GM would also be stunning.

LJ, I'm glad you love it. Another winner. So far 2 abalone dials on bracelets for me. I'd love to own yours also. But I'm being strong. Smiley Wink

Makes me wonder if that name change was such a great idea. Also, they are not in HD on Comcast Houston's system. Makes me wonder how many other big metro areas there may be where Evine is not in HD on the local cable monopoly. The reason I think that may be a big deal is that if someone is surfing the program guide looking for something to watch, they are probably mostly looking in the HD part of the channel lineup. And then there's the cord-cutters too.

Still, I have to think tossing out what name recognition they did have, plus taking "shop" out of the name, was a dumb idea.

I really thought hard about getting the light grey Excursion, Jena. I ended up resisting, because I so rarely wear light neutrals like that, I just couldn't imagine wearing it more than once or twice a year at best. I really tried hard to be good. I hope I don't regret it. Surely I can survive with only three of those watches (red, violet & brown). You think? Woman Embarassed

Congrats LJ, glad you love it. I have two and I really do love them both. Is your strap as stiff as mine were? I had to do a little forced bending because they were so straight and stiff.
