Re: Vegas Rocks - Listening between the lines

"Designer?" I don't think of any of them as "designers." Sonia Bitton designs. Michael has a team of designers. One upon a time, he did design.

But what I think is the point is marketing by TV channels to drive up prices. They all took advantage of material prices. Smiley Sad

But I would rather pay for shop's jewelry than over CZs offered by anyone. For the most part, Michael does real gems and Chuck C. refuses to do CZs. Whatever the tricks, I respect that.

I do get a kick out of seeing the jewelry, but it's not like it was. The Ramseys, Sonia, Dallas Prince (gold designs) and Neda. Gorgeous pieces. Eight years ago plus.

I've seen Chuck Clemency's and Paul Deasy's pieces other places. You notice they never mention ""designers"". I wish a caller would ask Paul who designs his jewelry; my guess is some anonymous person in China.

Re: Vegas Rocks - Listening between the lines

I agree that Victoria Wieck does her own designs based on the many detailed drawings she shows (as does Barbara Bixby). And every inch of her pieces have amazing details. She has done many high set rings with bridge settings in the past but last month I got a ring from her that is so far removed from any in the past - pancake flat and flimsy but with a gorgeous sparkling fire opal and tiny stones on the sides that also sparkle like crazy. A very feminine design and I love it but would have never guessed she would design anything like that so now I'm wondering why the style is so different??
