Too Much Copper and Bronze

Seems like many of the jewelry lines are opting for metalwork in copper and bronze. Some of my favorite designers on HSN---Jay King, Hillary Joy & Barse are showing so many pieces in copper during today's 24 hour jewelry event.

Has silver and semiprecious gemstones gotten so high that the shopping channels can no longer afford to sell it? All I know is that I am not interested in purchasing another piece of RLM with Brass, Jay King with Copper or Barse in Bronze.
