I know people have been down on the quality of the TSV and kanchanaburis, but I have to say I much prefer these shows to the normal destination gold and other jewelry shows, with the exception only of the premier hours. I do think for gold, $300 for a ring is a decent price in today's market. And I'm not surprised by the darkness, I just think 90% of mass-market commercial sapphires are this color. I was browsing the jewelry counters at a big dept store with my husband along for the ride once, and we were passing the sapphire case. He asked me, "what are all these little black stones?" So true, and so embarrassing!

But the color of the pink sapphire pieces is quite impressive, I think. Pink sapphires are so often so pale. Wish they would set them in gold.

I also love the gold 'harem' ring, and I usually hate multi-color, multi-gemstone anything. I hope it gets presented tonight.
