I was in B&N earlier today and came across a book titled 'The Queen's Diamonds' by Hugh Roberts. Wow! What a lot of bling. What I did like was that a lot of stones were recycled and many of the pieces were versatile eg tiaras turned into necklaces and pins with removable drops. I found out that what we call tennis necklaces can be called collet necklaces and long necklaces are called sautoir. I'm amused that I have some similar pieces: a bow pin, a tennis necklace and sautoir, a lavalierre pin...of course mine are czs and crystal and I have only worn them once or twice but still it's fun to know the queen and I have some matching pieces. However I have yet to find any civilian needs a tiara (the closest I have is a pearl headband by Honora). Now I'd love to see a book with the queen's rubies, emeralds, sapphires, pearls, opals etc. (I doubt we'll ever see anything about the queen's drusy
).
I also know there is a DVD called "The Queen's Jewels" that I want to track down one day
