Yep, it does. Still have the gold earrings I bought 12 years ago, and they look like new.

It's not only unappealing to look at (it just looks like a thin layer of gold poured over whatever mystery metal they use) but it tarnishes too.
Technibond is not mystery metal it is sterling silver with gold overlay.
Sorry, I was wrong. Thanks for correcting me.
I would still not consider silver to be any sort of 'fine' metal because it tarnishes, but it is probably better than just mystery metal. That's obviously why this stuff tarnishes. The gold vermeil over the top isn't enough to stop that. I couldn't believe this woman I worked with kept buying the stuff but I think she had a serious shopping addiction.

I don't believe technibond is gold vermeil either. It's real gold over the sterling.
I remember when it first came out years and years ago and it was horrible. The color was so brassy and fake looking. I ordered a ring that looked almost orange.
As time went on, they've gotten much better in the color of the gold they use over the sterling. I'm not a huge fan but I own a pair of earrings that I've had for at least 5 years that still look brand new. I keep them in a jewelry armoire and they've never tarnished either.
Personally I'm not a huge yellow gold fan so now, I actually buy some gold over stainless and that is really nice too.

Gold Vermeil is real gold, if fact it is much better than plated gold.
"Vermeil is produced by coating sterling silver with carat gold. A base metal is never used. Sometimes referred to as gilded silver, vermeil is made using the process of electrolysis — electricity and an acid bath — to attach the gold to sterling. To be considered vermeil, the gold must also be at least 10-carat and be at least 1.5 micrometers thick. This layer of gold is thicker than that applied using the electroplating process and will far outwear a gold plated item."
Any Vermeil that I have seen..(Chuck Clemency used it often at shop NBC) is 14K or 18 K gold.

It's not a fine metal because it tarnishes? The reason it tarnishes is all the chemicals we have pumped into the atmosphere. Before the industrial revolution there was no need to polish silver.
