I have a few Ross Simons pieces from a long time ago.  Mine are 18k and still in excellent condition.  No problems with them.

@raspberrygal  Hi! I have this ring and it's absolutely beautiful. It is large on my hand, but effective. I generally wear it for special occasions.

I have found some nice quality items on Ross Simons

I bought a few gold pieces from them several years ago. I am happy with them. There is quite an inventory on line.

We stopped in  a Ross Simons store on Chicago's Lakeshore Blvd. many years ago. It was the usual opulant storefront and showy cases of jewelry but upon closer look, the quality simply was not what we were interested in.

Their settings and stones were stunning at first look, but nothing more than you would find at a big box chain!  "Let the buyer beware" was our reaction to their smoke and mirrors-type store.

Of course there was something for every price and level of quality, but even the top of their line was not what I would call excellent or supreme cutting of stones or craftsmanship of settings or goldsmithing.

Money screams; wealth whispers.

@ruthbe

I have bought from RS for over 30 years when everything was mail or phone order.  The big engraved silver cuff I wear in "Outfit Of The Day" is from them.  I have never had a single issue with all of the chains, necklaces, and earrings I have ordered.

Their catalogue is life size pictures of their items.

RS sold out to a private equity firm a few years ago.  i would never buy fine jewelry there now.   even back when i was looking for a fine jewelry item,  the in-store sales people were very snooty and pushy.. .like insulted that you would waste their time just browsing.  totally turned me off to them.  noticed the catalog looks really cheesy. tossed it.

I have a few pieces of jewelry purchased from Ross Simons. I have a pair of blues topaz dangle earrings that are absolutely beautiful and an emerald pendant necklace. The emerald pendant is not a rich green emerald but a light green color. I knew when I purchased it for the money I was not getting a drker stone.  I also have  a couple of pairs of emerald earrings that are very nice for the money. Never had a problem with any of the jewelry purchased form Ross Simons.  Like anything else read the reviews before you purchase.
