I really like the heart shaped roman glass ring from or paz.  I did some research online and I pulled up old forums regarding this subject.  I love these forums.  I learn a lot.  After reading your reviews I decided against it.  You can't get it wet etc...  I think there was a comment from Kachina wondering why they would use this material in a ring.  I think it was Kachina,  sorry lady if I am confused lol.  However I decided this would not be the right ring for me.  I am rough on jewelry and can't have a ring that I have to baby.  So thank you all for saving me the trouble.Smiley Happy

@sunshine 919  Yes, water, as well as moisturizers, household chemicals, etc. can damage Roman glass. Higher priced pieces are sealed inside clear crystal for protection of the patina, but Or Paz is not.

It depends on the glass. That opal looking stuff is just a shaved film that was attached. I have a ring that is Roman glass but without the shaved layer. It is fine  around water

My son sent home 2 silver, cast, crosses  from Jerusalem ,and they both have Roman glass with this shaved layer so, I know I can't get them wet
