Ripka Repair Question

Hi Girls! I have the former TSV 18" pearl and diamonique station necklace. It came in a couple of lengths including a 54", I think. I purchased it as the TSV a few years ago. The chain is very thin. It broke on me the other day. Sadness! Now it sits in two very lovely pieces in my jewlery box. What do you think my best bet is for fixing this sweet little necklace? Would you go with a local jeweler or send it to Ripka for repair? I have never done this before and would appereciate any and all suggestions. TIA
