I beg to differ, as both of these manufacturers use synthetic stones, doublets, and semi-precious stones just like JR does. John Hardy also does a QVC line. As for Yurman pricing, a simple cable cuff (7mm) with a stone end cap and little band of 14k gold runs around $775. If you take a look at the bracelets in JR's similar price point, they are at her higher end (QVC line) as compared to the cable cuff which is at Yurman's starter end.

I have David Yurman pieces in my collection, as well. I started collecting DY before I even knew of Judith Ripka. My first pieces were three of the Renaissance Medium Cable Cuffs (the 7mm, not the skinny mini 5mm) and a pair of Renaissance Ram's Horn Earrings---they were $745 for two of the Cuffs 9with cabochon endcaps and $825 for the one with faceted endcaps with princess cuts; the earrings were $795---this was in 1991. Those Silver Renaissance David Yurman cuffs would now be at least $1600 each!!! They are Silver and semi-precious gemstones with some 14K gold. I love them, and won't part with them, but you could get a boat load of JRQ for the price of a single DY cable cuff. I dare say that if the new "Confetti Cuff" was a Yurman piece we'd be looking at upwards from $4000-5000, not the $800 something it was available for at the Q---I'm actually thinking it was a real BARGAIN!

I totally agree...same thing is very true for Louis Vuitton...my bucket bag (still have the receipt from 1996) cost $600. That very same bag is now over $1200.
