Not lovin' it.

Here are the particulars:

1. The asscher cut stone is beautifully rendered. Yes, it's big, but asschers need to be larger so you can appreciate the cut. And the stones give off a ton of sparkle. But:

2. The ring is ALL stone, so it looks very bright and white -- there's very little of the trademark Ripka metalwork flashed in rhodium. You can see it on the undergallery from the sides, but it's very lightly done and really not noticeable from most angles as you look at the ring. As a result, there's nothing particularly distinctive about it -- it just looks like another epiphany diamonique ring.

3. It's much, much lighter in weight than most of Judith's rings -- so much so that when I went to pull it out of the little bubble wrap, I thought the Q had mistakenly sent me another diamonique ring by mistake. The little london blue topaz heart ring feels heavier and more substantial, ironically.

4. It just doesn't look like a ring that Judith created.

If I wanted an asscher cut stone, or another diamonique ring, this one fits the bill. But what I'd hoped for was a more substantial, distinctive piece that Judith created with more of her trademark design elements. That's sorely missing on this ring.

Bottom line: Love the asscher, wondering where Judith's creative genius was in this piece -- it's missing.

Mine goes back -- more $$ for another piece!
