Question about international shipping on the bay

Last week there was a discussion about some Hagit Gorali peridot earrings and someone mentioned some other designers from Israel. I found them on the bay and love some of their pieces. The bay says there may be additional charges made by customs based on the value.

Has anyone ever had additional charges and how much are they? All the pieces I looked at are under $200 but I don't want some crazy fee added. Also, how do they charge you this fee?

The designer I was looking at was Jewelry by Yoran & Ines.

Any information on this matter would be appreciated.
