Question about Diamond rings

Hi, I am 55 and this spring my husband purchases for me my first EVER real diamond wedding band and 3 stone ring. The 3 stone ring is Canadian diamonds and 18k white gold. The one was a size 7, and I wear size 5 so they sized it. We our purchased it cash mid-March. Well after it was sized I had it in 2-3 times because the gold was peeling off. Well last month they ordered me a new ring from the Canadian jeweler. When I picked it up, I returned the certification papers that came with the original ring. They said the papers for this ring hadn't arrived yet, and the manager emailed them (supposedly) while I was there to make sure they get sent. Also, I noticed it was not stamped 18k gold, and they said, "we can send it back, but they made it special for you and probably just forgot." I said I would think about it and after I got home and looked at it more, and the brand "Canadia" is not one the inside of the band. Their return policy is 30 days, purchase date was 6/10. I am just really suspicious. Any ideas? I think I want to return it and go somewhere else. This is a big chain jeweler. Thanks for any help!
