I have shopped QVC rings especially over the years...and i stopped purchasing because most all offers are rings with prongs and each ring i every ordered (all different kinds of rings ...almost every one mounted with prongs) have been very uncomfortable.........the only ones i ever  felt good with were bezel set.  I am sure others have found a similar situation as myself..........so i then

decided to go to B & M stores and found some lovely rings even with prongs that were comfortable.............wish

QVC would make more bezel set rings..........purchasing

those might very well be worth it..............

@kelsey17.  The style of the ring depends on the stone.  Clear, cut and faceted gemstone are set to their best advantage with prongs that allows light to enter and the stones to sparkle.  Opaque gemstones are more commonly set in a bezel.  They are heavier and do best in a supportive

setting.

I find them to be equally comfortabpe.

@Kachina624   I have a diamond band that's bezel set...no prongs and the light does shine through. I think it depends on the style and the the jewlery maker more than the stone.

I have found that silver prongs are not strong enough and tend to bend eventually or get caught on something and loosen if intended to hold a heavy or large stone.

Have a wonderful Christmas @Kachina624

@Shanus. I tried to recall having seen a bezel set diamond and came up empty handed,  but I'm not a diamond fan.  I inherited a nice ring from an aunt and gave it to my sister.

All prong-set rings tend to snag on clothing which is a huge disadvantage.  Thankfully I prefer opaque stones which are mostly bezel set.

Happy holidays to you and your family too.
