QVC Jewelry Day Not the Same For Me

I am really trying HARD to see if something catches my eye, but it looks a lot like a big rummage sale of fashion jewelry items.

Bronze--stainless steel--gold plated silver--all nicely designed pieces, but no real lasting value, and all a bit overpriced....

Yes, the jewelry shows are always fun, but QVC is now taking a much bigger mark-up on gold pieces, so the great buys on fine jewelry items are few and far between.

It's sad that Shop HQ is gone forever, along with many of their great unique jewelry designers.  QVC is really giving a lot of time to Effy these days, but I have definitely stopped collecting Effy, especially since they moved to single cut diamonds and lightweight gold.

Well, at least David is getting a lot of air time.  I see Peyton (Vault) won't be at QVC until July

Good luck to all with your jewelry shopping!

@FancyPhillyshopper

I feel a little like you although I like the look of the tubogas. Jewelry shopping on television is going through quite a transition. I'll be curious to see what happens with Stefano on JTV. They've picked up quite a few ShopHQ vendors.

On QVC, I'm waiting primarily for Gem Day in July anyway, as gemstone jewelry is my true passion.

Edited to add: the new Effy Sterling panther with 18k gold and black diamond eyes is calling me. Those Effy panthers of all stripes get me every time over time.

@Sammycat1  if you love gems try watching gems.com. If you do not find it on your tv you can watch on line. They sell some of the most beautiful jewelry.

If you want 14k, check out sarraf dot com. Yes, gold is expensive but their price per gram is less than most places. Over the years, I've purchased several pieces from them. Great customer service. Promo code on home page.

What's missing is Jill Bauer, Lisa Mason, Lisa Robertson, and others, but still

I'm not even trying. I don't like bronze and mystery metals. I've never had jewelry clad in anything last. Their prices are ridiculous for what I consider costume jewelry.

I don't fault those who like this jewelry. Have fun if you like it.

The bronze is repulsvie to me. I can't even look at it.  I did buy more Ultrafine.  The closer to pure silver, the better. I did spurge on the lowest price Scott James legacy cuff.  all 40 grams of it.  Thank god for rhodium plating

Yep, not the same.  I learned long ago to keep away from anything clad or plated.  And bronze??????  Just NO.

Seems like the weights just keep going down too.

I wish they offered more 14K gold.  Like they used to.

I love sterling silver too and I've recently bought a few Jai and Christian James pieces.

Re: QVC Jewelry Day Not the Same For Me

@FancyPhillyshopper I've watched a bit and there are a lot of offerings for those who enjoy bronze and silver.

I miss the gold shows! I bought very little but it was fun to watch.

I also miss Shop HQ. I got a few amazing buys from Stefano when they had their huge sale. I did look at his offerings on JTV but the prices are two to three times what they were at Shop HQ so I won't be buying anything there...

I hope that everyone enjoys their purchases today!
