I've submitted a review for a Judith Ripka ring three times now and the review has been ignored by QVC all three times. Has this happened to others?
It was item #J284784, the Raspberry Eclipse Doublet Round Ring. The mother of pearl layer was noticeably defective and Quality Control either missed it, or used it anyway. I realize pearls, being a natural substance, have certain irregularities. In fact, I prefer baroque pearls over round. But, the MOP in this ring was ridiculous looking with three very pronounced bumps and the crystal quartz overlay was so pale that the bumps were quite noticeable. Had they been subtle bumps, or less visible, it wouldn't have been an issue.
To add insult to injury, I had used one of my rare Easy Pay on Request options to purchase the ring, so I called QVC Customer Service to explain that the ring has three huge bumps in the MOP that rendered it defective - could I reuse my Easy Pay? Was told that I could not reuse it and I was also required to pay for the return shipping, even though the ring was considered defective.
So, I decided to write an honest review for others, explaining the issues with the ring I had received, that I had used my Easy Pay, and suggested that if someone had their heart set on it, perhaps they should purchase three rings and pick the best of the bunch to increase their odds of getting a ring without any issues, since based on reviews, some have had luck with the ring.
In the meantime, I had purchased a pair of Judith's clip earrings - J287913 - and one earring back was perfect, but the other was loose. I sent those back too and now the earrings are no longer available. I must have purchased the last pair and they haven't been put back into inventory yet.
I've been buying Judith's gorgeous jewelry for years now, and have a sizable collection like many of you, but I've never encountered two pieces in a row that had defect issues.
Have others had their reviews ignored? (I submitted mine three times!) Have others had any luck getting customer service to reinstate their Easy Pay on Request when it was used to purchase a defective item?

Hi ZsaZsa, call back and speak to another cs rep. Defective merchandise is 100% refundable including shipping and handling or they will replace it. If no more in stock, you can waitlist. As for your EZ on request, I would keep going with the ring until you receive one that is acceptable to you. If not, speak again to CS and request a different item for purchase so you don't lose out. If you're not successful, ask them for the Corporate CS reps, they have more power to fix the situation to your satisfaction. Be firm, after all, they push Quality, Value, Convenience with their return policy and that they want you 100% to be satisfied. It shouldn't cost you one cent to get your ring in perfect condition and for the EZ pay. Good Luck! Pug

Hi Pug - thanks for the recommendation! I'll contact them again re: refunding my shipping and exchanging it for the same ring on EZ Pay. I wrote in the return form comments that the MOP was clearly defective. The ring design is fabulous, but the execution on the particular size 7 that I received was poor. So, heads up anyone looking at a size 7 in this style because it may have gone back into inventory!
I just don't want to become one of those poor souls who gets the "we're cutting you off because of your returns" emails! LOL!

Regarding your review, it bordered on customer service issues when you mentioned the EZ pay situation. If you write a review solely about the ring and the MOP issues it should be posted.

Huh? The product review section is not the place to get help with defective merchandise or customer service issues. As the name implies, it's just for customer reviews of products.

And that's why the OP's review wasn't posted.

RE the mother of pearl, I wonder if the "bumps" were an optical illusion. Mother of pearl often appears to have waves and ripples, but it's perfectly flat when you touch it.

It doesn't make sense to contact CS after the fact. Have the issue noted on your account before returning the item - talk with a Manager- and ask for the shipping fee to be waived.
I won't buy pearls or MOP 'electronically' unless I see a picture of the actual item. There are too many 'mother nature' variances and it's luck of the draw unfortunately.
