As I have posted before I am a real fan of all things morganite.  If anyone is familiar with Victoria Wieck (now on Evine) she is offeriing a stunning morganite ring with rhodolite accents in rose vermeil ON SALE for $499!!  The ring is beautiful but come on the vermeil might eventually wear off & it can't be sized!  For over $500 with tax and shipping I want it to be gold - not vermeil!

ITA! I think you can find a 10K real solid gold w/ Morganite ring for less.

@SilleeMee  I'm not even looking to buy - but I REALLY enjoy the window shopping!  Haha - but even the vermeil prices are outrageous! Woman Wink

Last year I bought a pair of DMQ Morganite studs set in rose gold plate. Although they are beautiful, you just can't really see them very well because of their color...it blends in with my skin color! I was disappointed and almost sent them back, but I didn't. So they just sit in my jewelry box looking so pretty. @nova

@SilleeMee @kittyloo  Thank you ladies for your kind responses!  I own a beautiful  morganite ring in rose gold  for several years now & just love it.  Everytime I look at it I am so happy I bought it.  Unfortunately it doesn't stop me from always looking at new things lol.  I did treat myself to a simulated diamonique morganite bracelet that is very pretty and I posted a picture on the jewelry thread I started a few days ago.   No more shopping for myself now!  When I look at new things I just can't get over the prices sometimes.

I think most of us jewelry junkies have precious little chance of wearing off the current quality of vermeil or platinum plating.  We just have so much jewelry to rotate.  When I do read of someone actually wearing through the back of a ring band, it turns out they've worn the ring every day for two years straight.

@novaITA!! I guess it depends on the person, their individual body chemistry and when and how they wear jewelry, but I wouldn't pay those prices for vermeil!  The few pieces I have had of it over the years have not fared too well; sooner or later, it starts to wear off and the piece is ruined.  Don't we all get attached to our jewelry?  I hate to have a piece become unwearable because of that issue so I never buy it.
