I think my jewelry store charges 35.00 to switch a pair of silver earrings from shepherd's hook to leverbacks.

You can buy lever backs at jewelry supply stores, either in sterling or silver plate. I can change out a pair from shepherd hooks to lever backs in less than 30 seconds using my genuine Walmart jeweler's plier. Can't believe anyone would pay $35.

This is so strange because I own both pairs of these earrings from 20 years ago. I have both the 14k white gold and 14k gold. I too, love these. I wish I could remember who made them but it has been so long ago.

If I can remember anything I will get back to your thread.

LexiBeavers - I am still checking here to see if you are on-line. I live in the Chicago area where are you from?

I know what earrings you are referring to as I have those same earrings with the lever back! You should get the earrings with the shepherd hook and then buy sterling lever backs at Michaels craft store or any other craft store and change them yourself. It really is very easy to do!

@shoptheQ - i don't know why, but my posts are getting poofed as well.
I'm so sorry I haven't replied earlier, my husband and I are in the process of packing and getting ready to move next month, and I don't have a lot of time between that and my 7 month old daughter Smiley Happy
If you can see this, I will be back online around 2:00 PM EST. I'm in the southwest part of Virginia.

LexiBeavers please go to Sparklestar's message in this thread. She has found a pair of sterling silver earrings that are very close to the ones I own. As you can see on this thread we are not allowed to post emails etc. Your mom will be thrilled with the pair Sparklestar found - getting the exact pair won't matter to your mom -- all your effort to find them will mean the world to her. I don't know how long the Q leaves these posts on line but I know your mom would love to read all the replies that were left here.

Let us know what you think of Sparklestar's suggestion.

Good luck with your move.

I want to thank everyone for their effort and very sweet messages. I think I am going to buy the pair from Macy's when the next payday rolls around. This means so much, I've always loved QVC & I know how how strong the community is. Thank you all for all your help, I sincerely appreciate it. And by chance if this thread is still around on my mom's birthday in October, I will update and let everyone know how she liked them! Smiley Happy

Your post and your sentiments are wonderful and I hope you find just the right earrings for your Mom. But one thought comes to my mind... based on my own experience.... does your Mom still wear the same type of earring as she did so many years ago?
