Re: Peter Thomas Roth Jewelry

So that was PTR of the skin care line!!  After not watching QVC for quite some time, I watched a jewelry show this morning (08/01) featuring Peter Thomas Roth and would NEVER have recognized him!!  I still wasn't convinced until he dismissed his skin care line as "just a hobby" and showed some huge catalog of jewelry his parents sold.

Does this mean he is out of the skin care business??  JRT always says his products are what keep her on HDTV in her 50's, and some I've tried have been rather effective.  I did not watch the jewelry presentation very long, neither he nor the host seemed very comfortable, but the pieces I did see seemed similar to Or Paz.  (IMO...Or Paz pieces have a history and presence about them.)

Hmmm....IT Cosmetics sold to L'Oreal and PTR designing jewelry!!  What will be next!!😉

I agree that it is grossly overprised.  That band ring for $79 should be around $50, tops.

I liked the style of his jewelry but found it way overpriced - I was tempted until I read all the bad reviews.

Re: Peter Thomas Roth Jewelry

It's nice to see the Q bringing a new jewelry line in, but my two cents worth is that I doubt I'll be buying any of PTR jewelry. I suppose there are a few folks who will buy a piece in the $1000 to $2000 range, and there are a few pieces less than $100, but seriously, the majority of this line is not all that affordable. Please don't throw in a couple of pieces less than $100 as a teaser. I suppose we should wait for some customer feedback on the quality of this line.

I haven't seen his presentation, but just looked at the styles online.  I did like some of the pieces, but too pricey for what you get.

Do the math.

Re: Peter Thomas Roth Jewelry

To me, his jewelry is reasonable price,of the 19 jewelry items that  were reviewed 5 were 3 1/2 stars, 3 were 3 stars, and the other 11 pieces were averaging 4 to 5 reviews. The style is nice,  most reviews comment on the nice weight. Some complaints was that the jewelry was tarnish, and need a good polishing. No,I will not be buying any for my self, because I like wide band ring,as for bracelets and earring, the one he had on site are not my style.

I would buy his jewelry for gifts, my sister would like the his simple excellence of his jewelry.

@GRACIE- I purchased the door knocker earrings as I love the style and they were reasonable.  I rarely return things to QVC but sent these right back.  They were packaged beautifully, I will say that.  But they were not only tarnished but dull.  They were both in a plastic pouch with the silver saver swatch but looked like they might have been sitting on a shelf for years.  I guess I could have polished them but why should I?  They were supposedly new!

I like  many of his designs and I have the original ring from his first show.  It is beautiful on the hand, but I must say that it tarnished very badly over these months. At first I thought it was ruined.  I cleaned it up with a silver cloth and it came right back to it's original beauty, but nothing I have has tarnished so quickly.  Just want to let others know.

Re: Peter Thomas Roth Jewelry

I would be hesitant to buy the more expensive pieces at this time, as the tarnishing was so extreme.  Maybe over time others will review and change my mind.  Maybe mine was a fluke.
