Maybe but I really don't know about this  @lmt   I've never heard this but perhaps it's written here somewhere.  S/H is usually based on weight not value or price you pay for any one item, even the USPS, USP knows this.

@PINKdogWOOD   It's very easy to verify the shipping charges. Check any jewelry line on Q's website. You'll see the different shipping charge for over/under $75. It's been this way for quite awhile. HSN's shipping works the same way.

As for paying according to weight not value or price . . . . .

Have you seen the shipping charges for jewelry at ShopHQ? An expensive ($2.088) EFFY ring has a shipping charge of $13.99, but an inexpensive ring (well under $100) from a different vendor is only $5.99. Both rings are about the same weight - the only difference is the price. I imagine part of the higher shipping on the expensive item may be insurance if the package is lost or damaged. Regardless, they do have a higher shipping charge when the item is more expensive.

Some places do charge according to weight . . . . but I've seen other places charge by how many items you purchase, or by the total amount you spend. Then you have other places that have a flat rate shipping charge no matter the weight or price of your purchase.

Shipping fees are all over the place these days. Smiley Frustrated
