Is it true the post office with be closed Christmas Eve?  I often remember going in on the 24th morning to get last minute packages.  (PO box)

Just last week or so, the President declared Christmas Eve a federal holiday.  The post office is always closed on federal holidays.  This year is different.  In the past, it was not a federal holiday or only half-day.

Christmas Eve is not an official federal holiday.

“The heads of executive departments and agencies may determine that certain offices and installations of their organizations, or parts thereof, must remain open and that certain employees must report for duty on December 24, 2020, for reasons of national security, defense, or other public need,” the order notes.

Please check the USPS website. Not every post office will be closed on Christmas Eve.

I just called my local Post Office and was told although the President declared Christmas Eve a federal holiday some will remain open so yes my local PO will remain open Christmas Eve.
