@Shanus Thanks for starting this thread.  I was inspired to dig out my broken pearl bracelet and take to be re-strung!   Wish I had replaced the clasp a long time ago.  It's one of those old fish hooks that you hook and push in.  It is strong but requires that someone help me put it on.

@Jk9  Maybe change that clasp as long as you are having it restrung!  A magnetic clasp with a safety chain?  That's what I would do if I was springing for the cost.  Bracelet buddies help but those clasps are so tricky!

Love the look of pearl bracelets, particularly on the right hand when extended to shake a hand!  I have seen them stacked with a rope or other thin chain and I think it is a great and classy look.  Unfortunately I have never found the right one for me.  My wrists are larger for my size, and I like drape.

@Jk9  My pearl necklace also has this clasp and neither I nor my husband can manage closing it. I think those types of clasps were the standard closure for good pearl jewelry years ago. I also have a very pretty gold chain necklace that has a box closure that is similar. Thanks for reminding me that I need to take these to a jeweler to have the clasps replaced.

I think pearls have a special beauty. I have a 20" cultured pearl strand that I love wearing with a pinky/peachy colored sweater. I don't wear the necklace in the summertime because I'm always slathered up with sunscreen. I have a matching bracelet and ring too.

I forgot that I have a mabe ring and pendant. And a potato pearl pendant. It's easy to forget about these pieces since I'm retired and live a more dressed-down life now.

I love pearls, always have. I never knew they went out of style.

I don't wear any necklaces (I can't stand anything against my neck), but I have several pearl rings, bracelets and earrings. I mostly have white pearls, but I do have a few black and gray pearl pieces.

Now that my hair is finally turning gray/silver, pearl studs look especially good.

@lmt   I think you're correct. My pearl studs looks better with my silver/white hair. They kind of brighten up my complexion.

Never thought pearls had to come back. They are,in my opinion, classic.

@Shanus glad to hear you are enjoying wearing your pearls. I have some strands, too that I really enjoy. I love pearl earrings, I have studs and drops etc.

Like you I wear them with everything - casual or to church. It's fun and hey why not enjoy the items I bought.

Yes @Shanus I agree with that. Wear and use your "good" things. When my grandmother died, it was sad to see that many of the things people had bought for her to wear were still folded in the drawer being kept for a special occasion.

Every day with her was a special time for me as one of her youngest grandchildren.

I have a couple pairs of Pearl earrings, studs and drop and one ring with two 8mm pearls...one blue gray and the other one white.  I have one pearl necklace that contains two black pearls that I bought in Thailand.

I do not own any pearl strands and never wanted any.  When I was in Asia, ( China and Thailand)  pearls were reasonable and plentiful.

Pearl strands never spoke to me...I knew I would never wear them and passed up some really nice selections.
