Oh That Cherry Red Hessonite

[ Edited ]

I have one of Michael's older huge oval Hessonite rings and I ordered that Beautiful Red Hessonite TTV ring.  What a great purchase it was.  It's a beautiful shade of cherry red just like he said it was.  It's very sparkly and the color is so saturated.  It was like it was dipped in a cherry red dye and left there for days, lol.  Yes, it has two small embers in the center of the ring and the stone will glow in those spots.  With the almandine side stone garnets sure adds a great flush of color.

There is a difference between my older hessonite which is a more orange red color stone but this one is a true cherry red.  I love the fact the ring has a high profile to it.  I wore it to work and the compliments just kept on coming.  Best thing of all, he didn't skimp on the silver this time.  This ring has weight to it.  Happy about this purchase in every way.  Love the ring.  Heart

I'm so glad that you like the TTV ring.  I don't know lots about gemstones, however I did follow the original thread about the ring and was waiting for your review.

I hope the other ladies who ordered it add to the reviews.  Don't you just  love it when you take a chance and then your expectations are exceeded?

@Bird mamaGood Morning BirdMamma.  Thank you so much.  I was very curious about this particular Hessonite stone because my other Michael Hessonite was a red orange color.  This cherry red was more of a bright clear red stone with the two embers of orange inside and it didn't make the stone cloudy at all.  Mine is a very sparkly cherry red stone.  For once like you said it was worth taking a chance on it.  I wasn't going to order it all because I already had Michael's hessonite ring, but this one is surely different.  I like this stone much better then his first one.  I think the side stones made all the difference in the appearance of the ring.  For once they were big for being side stones and not those teeny tiny stones used for accents.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend and hope you're not due for all this snow that's coming to the east coast.  Be safe and enjoy the weekend.

@BlingQueen022 Hi there, Bling!  I'm delighted to read your review of Michael's red Hessonite ring...wear it happily and in good health!  Those gemstones were dazzling when presented and it's good to know that his detailed description of coloration/saturation was accurate.  I truly enjoy his passion and enthusiasm for the pieces he brings to us.

I hope the incoming blizzard on the east coast doesn't hit too hard.  Please be safe and have a wonderful weekend, dear lady!

@Dallas-Dame Hi there DallasD!  How is the newly retired lady today?  Hope you're enjoying your retirement.  Michael sure was accurate.  This is one of my favorites.  I've always loved garnets.  Too bad it's not my birthstone.  Peridot is.  I have way more garents then Peridots in my collection.  It's my brother's birthday today so he's the garnet lol.

Thanks for the best wishes for this storm.  I'm very worried the electricity will go out here.  The winds are going to be pretty strong with this.  I'm due to get about 30 inches of snow out of this storm.  I told the doc I work for  look for me in August hahahahahahaha.  We haven't had any snow in the dc area this winter so I guess we're due.  If you chat with your mom, please tell her I say hello and hope she's still enjoying her beautiful rings.  Enjoy your retirement.  Just think no more waking up at the crack of dawn.  That's the best thing of all.  Stay well my friend!!

I'm glad you love your ring!  I thought the stone looked good, but didn't order because I didn't care for the setting (I like to see some metalwork around the stones).  I did make up for it with a couple other items, however.  Cat Tongue

Re: Oh That Cherry Red Hessonite

Hi Blingie, glad you love Michael's cherry-red concoction!  Enjoy that luscious bauble!

I received Chuck's multi-exotic princess cut line bracelet, and you better put this one on your wish list -- it is tailor-made for you.  Off the charts bling and rich color!

We're like you in the bull's-eye of this storm -- stay safe and warm and put on a lot of gems to ride it out!

@BlingQueen022  Oh my heavens, Bling...I didn't realize just how badly your area is to be affected by the blizzard.  Sending good wishes to you that your power remains intact and you're able to hibernate comfortably throughout the storm.

Although it's only been a month, I'm greatly enjoying retirement.  It still feels odd not to set the alarm each night and to check the forecast to plan for my commute.  I still awake quite early and have been keeping busy with household projects and pleasant socialization.  I had to behave during Ido's recent shows (I do love diamonds!) but it seemed like a fair trade-off to finally having time for myself.  It's definitely helping me to "shop my collection" each day.

Although your birthstone isn't your favorite of gems, I'm sure you have some lovely peridot in your collection.  It's nice that we can wear what we love in terms of gems in spite of our birth month!

My mom is doing well and sends her best wishes to you.  She continues to wear one of her rings each day and seems to enjoy them greatly.  I'll be checking-in throughout the weekend and look forward to hearing that all is going well with you.  Be sure to wear some of your lovely pieces while home and snowbound, dear lady!!

@BlingQueen022   I'm so glad you're giving the ring glowing (so to speak)  reviews as mine should come today. It's been in town since Tuesday but you know how Sure-Post goes.   We pay a ridiculous price for shipping and get the world's slowest service.
