What creates a ringed pearl is an irritant, such as a piece of sand gets in there. Then as the mollusk spins the pearl, that irritant creates a groove in the pearl. In no way should these cost what Honora brings them at. Again you are paying for their name, not the worth if the pearl.
I absolutely agree with everything you wrote. I would never wear those ringed pearls, I would be embarrassed but that is just me. To those of you who like them, enjoy them. My husband bought me a beautiful longer strand of Mikimoto pearls about 40 years ago in Japan. I have never had them restrung. This reminds me I have to have it done. When we were in Tahiti, he bought me a beautiful gold pendant with a 9mm Tahitian pearl and in Hong Kong an 11mm solitaire white pearl. Other than that, I buy my own jewelry, mostly from the Q and am glad that I got all of that gold before it got so expensive. I know, I know, I should get the old guy traveling again since travel seems to make him want to buy me things.I just love it when people come here to brag about what they already own, what they bought before gold went high, what they wouldn't be caught dead in, blah blah blah.
You know, after I hit submit I regretted it. I wasn't bragging, I don't brag there is no reason to. I don't even understand it. I was remembering the nice jewelry my husband of 50 years bought for me. To most women, 3 things in 50 years is not a real lot. I think your reply is mean spirited. I certainly meant no harm at all.

I don't like ringed pearls either. That's not where I'll spend my money. I have a suggestion, though. I don't have pierced ears. How about making a large button earring (I'd love black, personally) with steel clip on backs? Normally I like sterling jewelry, but who cares about the back? Steel would be strong, non-reactive and inexpensive. It would allow more women to buy Honora earrings at a good price. Just make the backings comfortable and you'll have a lot of customers, I'm sure. Go for it, Joel!!!

I love pearls as well, especially coin pearls, and would love to see more colors and styles in silver or gold. No to bronze. I have a number of Honors pieces and have been pleased with all of them.
